Assembles, tests, and installs battery systems at renewable energy facilities under general guidance. At the Developing Professional (P2) level, the role owns defined deliverables / small features, applies established patterns, and drives own and immediate-team deliverables. May guide interns.
What this level does
- Independently operate and maintain machinery to generate electricity across wind, solar, hydro, or bioenergy units, following defined operating procedures with routine autonomy
- Coordinate with distributors and dispatchers to ensure generated electricity flows correctly from the plant to substations and on to homes and businesses
- Use SCADA, PLCs, and data loggers to remotely monitor generation assets and perform first-line troubleshooting of common faults from the control room
- Manage feedstock intake and intermediate-product handling on bioenergy units, keeping reaction and process conditions within specified operating ranges
- Regularly update knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and new technologies that may improve plant operations, safety, and environmental performance
