What this role is

An entry-to-developing level EHS professional who supports safety and compliance programs under guidance from more experienced staff. At the Support Specialist (S2) level, the role owns a defined queue or customer set, standard issues within known procedures, and drives customer satisfaction for own queue. None.

  • Carry out multi-step scheduled inspections and audits of assigned work areas against the health and safety checklist, noting deviations and routing them to the responsible party
  • Run several sampling and monitoring routines (respiratory, noise, air quality) in sequence, entering results into MSDS/OSHALOG software with general guidance on new task types
  • Deliver established safety training modules to employees and track attendance and completion records
  • Maintain the equipment-calibration schedule and inventory of PPE and sampling supplies, reordering when stock hits set thresholds
  • Recognize when a reading or condition falls outside the routine and escalate to the appropriate EHS specialist rather than proceeding

Plans, sequences and runs scheduled inspections and safety checks against health, safety and environmental standards, recording findings and confirming that controls, equipment and work practices meet requirements.
Environmental & Industrial-Hygiene Sampling
Collects air, noise, respiratory and other environmental/hygiene samples following defined protocols; labels, logs and hands off specimens and flags out-of-range results.
Monitoring Equipment Maintenance & Calibration

Recognizes potential exposures and unsafe conditions during checks, distinguishes routine from non-routine findings, and escalates or corrects within established procedure.
Corrective Action Follow-Up
Investigates inspection and sampling findings, determines the appropriate corrective step within procedure, and tracks it to closure to prevent recurrence.
Permit & Waste Compliance Coordination
Tracks permit renewals and waste-disposal and program compliance requirements across a site, ensuring deadlines and documentation are met.
Procedure Development
