What this role is

Manages a team of store operations supervisors and managers overseeing daily retail store performance. At the Senior Manager (M3) level, the role owns multiple teams or a sub-function, multi-team execution and resourcing trade-offs, and drives sub-function outcomes. Manages managers and/or several teams.

What this level does

  • Own the complete operation of a single retail location as a genuine P&L role — sales performance, financial results, staffing, inventory control, brand standards, and customer experience
  • Manage store-level operating budget and labor spend, and evaluate weekly/monthly sales and shrink trends to decide where to intervene
  • Lead the store's supervisor and associate team: hiring, scheduling, performance management, and development against operational and sales goals
  • Diagnose recurring operational issues (stockouts, queue times, shrink patterns) and put corrective actions in place, escalating only diverse or ambiguous problems
  • Ensure consistent execution of merchandising, safety, and loss-prevention standards, serving as the accountable operational lead and customer point of escalation for the store
Knowledge applied
Applies full store-operations and basic financial knowledge to run a single location as a P&L, balancing sales, labor, inventory, and brand standards.
Complexity & problem solving
Evaluates diverse operational issues and sales/shrink trends, diagnosing root cause and implementing corrective actions at the store.
Collaboration & interaction
Leads the store's supervisor and associate team and serves as customer and cross-functional point of contact for the location.
Typical experience
5–7+ years managing retail staff and store budgets.
