What this level does
- Runs a department or shift within a store, planning staff coverage, stocking priorities, and floor-readiness against daily and weekly targets with milestone review from the store manager.
- Coordinates the receiving-to-floor merchandise process end to end, balancing inventory accuracy, replenishment timing, and display standards across multiple sections.
- Owns customer-service escalations for the department, diagnosing recurring service or stock-out patterns and adjusting routines to prevent recurrence.
- Trains and coaches associates on operational standards, safety, and loss-prevention, and assesses their readiness for expanded responsibility.
- Tracks department-level metrics (shrink, in-stock rate, service times) and recommends operational adjustments to the store manager.
