What this role is
Senior supervisor accountable for daily store operations and the shift supervisors or associates who run them. At the Manager II (M2) level, the role owns an established team or sub-function, cross-project coordination and priorities, and drives group delivery and development. Manages a team; sometimes manages leads.
What this level does
- Lead a skilled associate team or junior shift supervisors across the full store day, owning tactical outcomes for sales-floor coverage, transaction accuracy, and store cleanliness standards
- Manage inventory execution end to end — receiving shipments, running stock counts, and driving down discrepancies against the store's inventory records
- Coordinate with the store manager to hit daily and weekly sales targets, adjusting associate deployment when traffic or staffing changes within known constraints
- Own loss-prevention execution on the floor: schedule floor coverage, coach associates on security procedures, and follow up on reported incidents
- Cooperate cross-functionally with receiving, merchandising resets, and adjacent departments to keep the store operating smoothly across shifts
- Knowledge applied
- Applies deeper operational knowledge across a full store day, making judgments within known factors on staffing, inventory execution, and loss-prevention coverage.
- Complexity & problem solving
- Resolves tactical problems within established constraints — reworking coverage, reconciling stock discrepancies — owning the outcome of the shift or team.
- Collaboration & interaction
- Works cross-functionally with receiving, merchandising, and adjacent departments; leads a skilled associate team or junior supervisors.
- Typical experience
- 2–5 years in retail team leadership or specialist store roles.
