  • Supervise day-to-day dispensing workflow for a single pharmacy unit, overseeing technicians as they stock inventory shelves, keep patient profiles up-to-date, answer telephone calls, and maintain pharmacy-related records
  • Ensure staff correctly use pharmacy automation and medication-use information systems, including bar code scanning, to safely and efficiently prepare medications for patients
  • Assign and balance daily technician tasks (labeling, medication assembly and storage, insurance claim processing) so prescriptions move through the queue accurately and on time
  • Monitor drug inventory within automated dispensing systems, flag near-outages, and escalate potential drug interactions and dispensing errors to the pharmacist for professional review
  • Provide on-the-job coaching to technicians on accuracy with names, strengths, quantities, directions, and dates against established practices
