Entry-level individual contributor who monitors store activity and supports theft-prevention procedures. At the Support Associate (S1) level, the role owns a single task type or queue, routine, well-defined requests, and drives individual transactions. None.

What this level does

  • Monitor shoppers and staff on the sales floor and via surveillance video during assigned shifts, remaining as unobtrusive as possible while watching for theft, following the specific patrol and observation instructions provided at the start of shift
  • Check receipts at the store entrance and walk the floor in regular clothes on a prescribed rotation, escalating anything unusual to a senior officer rather than acting alone
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on cameras, EAS pedestals, and other loss prevention equipment, powering up, testing, and reporting faults per the equipment checklist
  • Complete standard incident and observation paperwork on provided templates, recording time, location, and description of events for review by a more experienced officer
  • Follow all posted store safety and apprehension protocols exactly, learning the store's do's and don'ts for handling suspected theft

Monitors shoppers and staff via CCTV and on the floor in plain clothes to detect theft in progress, positioning and shifting coverage to entrances and high-shrink departments while staying unobtrusive.
Loss Prevention Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Apprehension and Prosecution Procedures
