- Supervise loss prevention specialists and contract security officers on daily floor coverage, directing patrol of store aisles and monitoring of customers and public areas for unusual activity and potential threats
- Verify proper functioning of physical security systems — CCTV, alarms, EAS sensor-tag systems and locks — for the assigned store and escalate equipment failures
- Investigate individual known or suspected shoplifting and internal-theft incidents, apprehend or detain per policy, and document cases for follow-up
- Train store employees on loss prevention techniques and reinforce established shrink-reduction procedures at the store level
- Conduct routine store audits to identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies and correct them within established practice
