Serves as the senior technical authority for workplace safety and environmental compliance programs across a site or multi-site organization. At the Principal Support Specialist (S5) level, the role owns function-wide support practice, program-level and systemic support problems, and drives support strategy across the function. Subject-matter authority; shapes the practice.

  • Develop and standardize new inspection checklists, sampling protocols and equipment-calibration procedures within the EHS support area, and roll them out to the team
  • Resolve the most complex procedural EHS issues — ambiguous audit findings or novel exposure scenarios — drawing on deep knowledge of regulations, industrial hygiene and monitoring techniques
  • Act as the working lead and technical reference for EHS technicians across sites, facilitating execution and providing peer guidance on procedure
  • Contribute EHS support expertise to program design led by professional staff, translating field experience into workable procedures and training content
  • Own the integrity of core compliance records (OSHA 300 logs, SDS libraries, permit trackers) and define how the support team maintains them

Corrective Action Follow-Up
Investigates inspection and sampling findings, determines the appropriate corrective step within procedure, and tracks it to closure to prevent recurrence.
Permit & Waste Compliance Coordination
Tracks permit renewals and waste-disposal and program compliance requirements across a site, ensuring deadlines and documentation are met.
