An individual contributor developing core skills in collecting and processing earth-science field data under routine supervision. - Carries out multi-step sampling and basic lab tests (e.g., logging soil/rock/water samples) across a work order, sequencing the steps against given deadlines and priorities
- Records and does first-pass analysis of geological data in the specialized software, applying standard formats and recognizing when a reading needs to be re-taken
- Maps the geographical distribution of rock types and geological structures onto base maps or GIS from field notes following established conventions
- Performs routine calibration checks on field and laboratory equipment on the standard schedule and logs the results
- Prepares data tables and figures that assist geologists in interpreting results and drafting reports for stakeholders
