What this role is

Analyzes environmental and community impact data to support sustainability initiatives across energy or mining operations. At the Mid-Level Professional (P3) level, the role owns features or a sub-system end-to-end, adapts existing approaches, and drives project / team outcomes. Mentors juniors informally.

What this level does

  • Work with Operations and Finance business customers to develop sustainability strategy inputs, set energy-reduction goals and independently execute rebate and incentive applications end to end
  • Lead energy market research and forecasting projects, providing recommendations based on industry trends, pricing mechanisms and market drivers with day-to-day autonomy
  • Collaborate with engineers, financial analysts and environmental scientists to build comprehensive energy and cost-saving strategies for a portfolio of operations
  • Own alignment of a reporting area to responsible-mining and ESG frameworks (ICMM, GISTM, TCFD/TNFD), improving process, data quality and governance across cycles
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with stakeholders and utility companies to integrate energy-efficiency practices and promote conservation initiatives

Works with Operations and Finance stakeholders to set energy-reduction targets and to track fuel and energy consumption against the cost-savings impact of alternative strategies.
Business Process Improvement
Analyzes sustainability-organization business processes and manages implementation of improvements to raise organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Regulatory and Compliance Advisory
Advises internal colleagues and leadership on sustainability compliance and evolving regulatory expectations affecting energy and mining operations.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Collaboration
