An individual contributor who supports environmental and community impact initiatives across energy or mining operations under regular guidance. At the Developing Professional (P2) level, the role owns defined deliverables / small features, applies established patterns, and drives own and immediate-team deliverables. May guide interns.

What this level does

  • Analyze energy-usage data across multiple sites to identify trends and defined opportunities for efficiency improvement, applying established audit procedures with routine independence
  • Conduct energy audits, energy modeling and simulation runs to evaluate site performance and quantify the impact of proposed efficiency measures
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations of energy and cost-savings findings for management, drafting recommendations grounded in the data
  • Support rebate and incentive applications by assembling supporting consumption data and coordinating with utility companies
  • Maintain data quality and governance for sustainability reporting, reconciling inputs against framework requirements (GRI, SASB, TSM) with milestone review

Energy Reduction Goal Setting
Works with Operations and Finance stakeholders to set energy-reduction targets and to track fuel and energy consumption against the cost-savings impact of alternative strategies.
Business Process Improvement
Analyzes sustainability-organization business processes and manages implementation of improvements to raise organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Regulatory and Compliance Advisory
Advises internal colleagues and leadership on sustainability compliance and evolving regulatory expectations affecting energy and mining operations.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborates with engineers, financial analysts, environmental scientists, utility companies and business customers to build and deliver comprehensive energy and cost-saving strategies.
Sustainability Strategy Development
Develops sustainability strategies that align initiatives with business goals and integrate energy, regulatory and socio-political considerations into organizational decision-making.
