- Leads a complete geoscience sub-function through Directors/geoscience managers, owning end-to-end delivery of complex geologic studies — resource identification, characterization, and mapping — across the organization's active programs.
- Sets standards and priorities for prospect identification and evaluation, holding technical leads accountable for the quality of seismic interpretation, log analysis, and 3D geologic models feeding resource decisions.
- Directs quality control, regulatory documentation, and technical review processes so that geologic characterization work meets state licensure and internal defensibility requirements.
- Interfaces with peer executives and major clients/partners to align the geoscience function's investigation programs with business exploration and development objectives.
- Owns talent strategy for the technologist function — building the pipeline from field/lab technicians through project leads to principal geologists — and resolves the highest-consequence technical disputes escalated by Directors.
