Serves as a subject-matter expert driving environmental, community, and decarbonization strategy across energy or mining operations. At the Expert Professional (P5) level, the role owns multiple systems or a technical domain, establishes the approach, and drives org / multi-team outcomes. Leads cross-team technical initiatives.

What this level does

  • Shape sustainability and energy strategy for the operation, aligning initiatives with broad business objectives and engaging employees, customers and regulators as an external spokesperson
  • Act independently on strategic and special assignments involving intangibles — balancing socio-political, regulatory and cost pressures where standard analysis alone is insufficient
  • Provide reports and counsel to senior leadership to ensure sustainability considerations are embedded in enterprise decision-making, and advise colleagues on compliance
  • Build influential internal and external networks across regulators, industry bodies and communities to advance responsible-mining and energy-transition positioning
  • Design improved sustainability reporting and governance methods that go beyond framework minimums, setting a standard adopted across the organization

12+ years with extensive sustainability and mining/energy expertise.
