- Owns the station's control-room operating discipline and licensed-operator program, ensuring reactivity adjustments, control-rod manipulations, and emergency procedure execution are performed to procedure by NRC-licensed staff.
- Governs the operator training and NRC re-qualification pipeline — sponsoring formal license-exam preparation and mandatory recurring training so the station retains a qualified licensed-operator bench.
- Directs the station's response to abnormal and emergency plant conditions, ensuring radiation-monitoring sensors, containment, and radiological procedures function so leaks are detected and addressed quickly.
- Manages fuel-handling operations (preparation, transfer, loading, unloading) and integrates operations activity with maintenance and outage work through the station's work-management system.
