- Owns resolution of the highest-consequence process failures — recurring material-use variances, line bottlenecks, and yield problems that carry serious business consequences if unresolved
- Interfaces with product design and operations executives to embed producibility and cost-down targets into new product introductions before designs are frozen
- Establishes standards for process development, testing methods, and equipment-vendor qualification that govern all lower-level engineering teams
