What this role is

An entry-level store team member who supports daily retail operations and customer service under close guidance. At the Entry-Level Professional (P1) level, the role owns own tasks within a defined component, routine problems with known solutions, and drives own deliverables. None — building the craft.

What this level does

  • Support daily store operations and share operational duties with the Store Manager without holding final decision-making authority or full accountability for store results
  • Rotate across different operational areas — sales floor, stockroom, checkout, merchandising — to develop leadership skills and prepare for a Store Manager role
  • Handle routine management duties such as opening/closing tasks and floor coverage when the Store Manager is temporarily unavailable, escalating anything outside standard procedure
  • Execute assigned tasks in customer service, restocking, and display upkeep under close direction from the Store Manager
Knowledge applied
Applies basic retail service and operational routines learned on the job across rotating store areas; relies on the Store Manager for standards and interpretation.
Complexity & problem solving
Handles routine, recurring store problems with standard answers; escalates anything non-standard.
Collaboration & interaction
Maintains stable working relationships with store associates and the Store Manager within one location.
Typical experience
0–1 years retail experience; developmental role designed to build leadership readiness.
