An entry-to-developing level skilled trades worker who performs routine facility and equipment maintenance tasks under general guidance. At the Support Specialist (S2) level, the role owns a defined queue or customer set, standard issues within known procedures, and drives customer satisfaction for own queue. None.

What this level does

  • Perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation and construction tasks across the mechanical, building, motor-equipment and electrical trades
  • Install and maintain HVAC mechanical systems and components with basic working knowledge of DDC controls, boilers, chillers and central-plant operation
  • Study and interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications to carry out multi-step work orders correctly
  • Recognize when a job deviates from standard procedure and refer non-standard situations to a senior tradesperson
  • Maintain campus buildings, mechanical, electrical and life-safety systems on assigned work orders
