Performs standard pass/fail testing on circuit boards, components, and mechanical assemblies, and completes routine repairs when tests fail. At the Developing Professional (P2) level, the role owns defined deliverables / small features, applies established patterns, and drives own and immediate-team deliverables. May guide interns.
What this level does
- Designs, develops, and executes comprehensive test plans for electronic hardware products following defined procedures with routine independence.
- Devises test procedures to help solve open issues when a pre-established procedure does not cover the failure observed.
- Collaborates with product design engineering teams to generate and rationalize requirements for test software/system design.
- Develops individual test programs and fixtures, debugging them through iteration on the line to raise first-pass yield.
- Assists in developing new testing procedures and methods and trains operators on established test methods.
