What this role is

Provides experienced administrative and operational support to the senior leadership team overseeing the company's mining business line. At the Senior Support Specialist (S3) level, the role owns escalated / complex cases, complex or non-standard cases, and drives resolution quality on the team's hardest cases. Guides junior support informally.

What this level does

  • Handles moderately difficult, non-routine survey and data-collection situations independently — resolving instrument discrepancies or difficult terrain — using detailed knowledge of survey procedure
  • Diagnoses equipment inspection findings and determines whether an issue is routine servicing or requires maintenance callout, exercising judgment without daily instruction
  • Coordinates the data flow into fleet-management systems (e.g., Wenco, Modular Mining) and validates production and compliance records for the shift's reporting
  • Runs environmental and safety compliance monitoring rounds, judging which observations warrant formal incident logging
  • Coordinates task sequencing among a small group of technicians on a survey or inspection assignment without formal leadership authority
Knowledge applied
Detailed knowledge of survey, inspection, compliance and fleet-system procedures sufficient to perform non-routine tasks independently.
Complexity & problem solving
Makes judgments on moderately difficult tasks — instrument discrepancies, inspection diagnoses, data validation — with little instruction on daily work.
Collaboration & interaction
Substantial procedural interaction; some task coordination of a small group but no leadership responsibility.
Typical experience
2–4 years; skilled in the mining-operations support function.

Production & Operations Reporting
Documents daily mining operations and production metrics, compiling and checking figures into operations logs and shift reports for management review.
Environmental & Safety Compliance Monitoring
Carries out site inspection and monitoring rounds to verify compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols, logging deviations and incidents.
Mine Plan & Schedule Support
Assists in implementing mining plans and schedules by sequencing survey, inspection and field tasks to meet stated deadlines and shift priorities.
Fleet-Management System Data Handling
Enters, validates and reconciles production and equipment data within mining fleet-management systems such as Wenco and Modular Mining to keep operational metrics accurate.
Mining Methods & Extraction Knowledge
Applies knowledge of mining methods and extraction techniques to support efficient and safe recovery of minerals during field and production tasks.
Safety Protocol Adherence
Follows and confirms established mine safety protocols before and during each task, protecting worker safety across drilling, blasting and heavy-equipment activities.
Operational Data & Technical Tools
Uses operating systems, database systems (e.g., Oracle) and basic scripting to capture, query and organize field and production data for mining operations.
Procedure Adaptation & Development
Adapts existing survey, inspection and reporting procedures to unprecedented site conditions and contributes to creating standardized new procedures and templates.
Field Team Coordination
Coordinates the sequencing and outputs of technicians on survey, inspection or maintenance assignments and guides less-experienced staff as a working lead.
Operations Communication
Collaborates with team members, conveys safety protocols and reports mining progress and findings clearly to peers and senior operations staff.
