  • Supervise a unit of mine engineers, surveyors, and CAD technicians performing daily mine engineering, surveying, and CAD work, allocating tasks and reviewing outputs for accuracy and safety
  • Oversee subsurface surveys to identify characteristics of potential development sites and ensure survey results are correctly analyzed and compiled into technical reports on mineral presence and extraction potential
  • Review draft layouts and specifications of technical devices, parts, and equipment prepared by the team, ensuring documentation, drawings, and instructions are complete and correct
  • Enforce adherence to established mine planning and surveying practices and short-term production targets for the unit within an assigned budget

Project-manages the mining production process, monitoring production methods and rates and delegating production tracking to keep operations efficient.
Software and CAD proficiency
Applies mine-design software (e.g., Maptek Vulcan) and CAD/surveying tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) to develop and communicate mine methods and structures.
Surveying and subsurface assessment
Directs subsurface surveys to characterize potential development sites and analyzes results to assess mineral presence and extraction potential.
People leadership and development
Guides, directs, and motivates subordinates by setting performance standards, monitoring performance, mentoring, and building training programs for engineers and technicians.
