- Leads a complete geothermal geoscience sub-function (exploration, resource assessment and reservoir modeling) through Directors and principal scientists, owning the technical standards for how conceptual models (2D/3D in Leapfrog) and capacity estimates are built and defended across projects.
- Sets the exploration strategy for the sub-function's project portfolio — which prospects to advance, which geophysical campaigns (seismic, magnetotelluric) to fund, and which drilling targets to greenlight — where a wrong resource call carries serious functional and business consequences (dry or under-performing wells).
- Owns QA/QC governance for geophysical and geochemical data flowing into geothermal system models, ensuring resource capacity estimates carried into investment decisions are auditable and defensible.
- Interfaces with peer executives in Engineering, Drilling and Development and with major partners/customers to align geoscience output with well-construction and energy-extraction plans, translating subsurface uncertainty into decisions those functions can act on.
- Builds and develops the geoscience talent bench — hiring principals, defining mentoring and technical-review cadence, and establishing detailed functional knowledge of geothermal (hydrothermal and EGS) practice across the team.
