What this role is
Experienced individual contributor who picks, packs, and prepares orders for shipment with minimal supervision. At the Senior Support Specialist (S3) level, the role owns escalated / complex cases, complex or non-standard cases, and drives resolution quality on the team's hardest cases. Guides junior support informally.
What this level does
- Resolve receiving discrepancies independently — investigate short/over/damaged shipments, reconcile against the PO and vendor packing slip, and adjust the WMS record with minimal instruction
- Research inventory variances surfaced by cycle counts, trace the root cause through WMS transaction history and correct the on-hand and location data
- Coordinate the day's flow across receiving, put-away, picking and shipping, adjusting slotting and pick-slot assignments by commodity group to keep dock and space moving
- Handle non-routine order and customer-service situations (rush orders, holds, returns) using judgment about which procedure applies
- Schedule inbound appointments and act as day-to-day contact with drivers and vendors on delivery timing and paperwork
- Knowledge applied
- Detailed procedural knowledge sufficient to perform non-routine tasks — reconciling receiving discrepancies and inventory variances through WMS transaction history — with little day-to-day instruction.
- Complexity & problem solving
- Makes judgments on moderately difficult tasks; decides which procedure applies to rush orders, holds, returns and count variances.
- Collaboration & interaction
- Substantial procedural understanding; coordinates daily flow and serves as day-to-day contact with drivers and vendors; no formal leadership.
- Typical experience
- 2–4 years; skilled in DC operations and inventory control.

- Vendor & Carrier Coordination

- WMS Data-Integrity Troubleshooting
- — Works error logs and system output reports to identify recurring data-integrity problems in the WMS and determines the corrective procedure that keeps stock records accurate.
- DC Process Design & Improvement
- — Creates and documents new receiving, count, slotting and workflow procedures and pilots technology- and procedure-based solutions such as RFID capture to raise productivity and accuracy.
