What this level does
- Carry out the full receiving-to-shipping sequence — unload, verify against packing slip/PO, put away, pick, pack and ship — deciding task order within the shift's priorities and deadlines
- Operate a forklift and other warehouse machinery (requiring completed training/certification) to put away and replenish reserve and pick locations
- Perform cycle counts on assigned commodity groups and enter the count adjustments into the WMS, flagging variances that fall outside tolerance
- Recognize when a receipt does not match its PO or a location is mis-slotted and follow the correct exception procedure rather than transacting the error
- Label, document and stage inbound and outbound freight, keeping pick slots replenished from reserve as stock draws down
- Knowledge applied
- Broad knowledge of the full receiving-to-shipping sequence and forklift operation; applies acquired skills to varied multi-step tasks against given priorities and deadlines.
- Complexity & problem solving
- Semi-routine tasks; recognizes when a receipt or slot doesn't match and follows the correct exception procedure rather than transacting the error.
- Collaboration & interaction
- Routine peer interaction across dock, put-away and pick zones; coordinates with the shift lead on task order.
- Typical experience
- 1–2 years; some related DC experience, forklift certification typical.
