At the Manager (Team Lead) (M1) level, the role owns a single team, day-to-day delivery and people issues, and drives team output and health. Direct people management of one team.

What this level does

  • Supervises a shift of control-room operators, assigning coverage across nights, weekends, and holidays and ensuring proper documentation of system activities and operational records
  • Oversees daily monitoring of plant equipment, machines, and systems — managing alarms/alerts, production rates, and system status logging — and steps in to troubleshoot when operators escalate
  • Directs the shift's immediate response to service emergencies to ensure minimal disruption, following established restoration procedures
  • Ensures routine inspections and maintenance activities are performed and logged by the team according to established practices
  • Enforces safety protocols including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work procedures on the operating floor
