What this role is
Entry-level individual contributor who supports daily manufacturing operations through data tracking, process observation, and basic reporting. At the Entry-Level Professional (P1) level, the role owns own tasks within a defined component, routine problems with known solutions, and drives own deliverables. None — building the craft.
What this level does
- Supports senior operations managers with day-to-day operational task management and basic team coordination on a single production line or work cell, following detailed instruction.
- Learns the plant's operational systems — production management software, MOM tools, and shop-floor HMI screens — and logs routine production data as directed.
- Acts as an early bridge between frontline production employees and supervisors, relaying status on output, downtime, and simple issues.
- Assists in applying basic lean housekeeping practices such as 5S on the assigned area under close supervision.
- Escalates routine problems with standard, known answers to senior staff rather than resolving novel issues independently.
- Knowledge applied
- Applies basic knowledge of production processes and plant operational systems, learning MOM/production software and shop-floor tools under detailed instruction.
- Complexity & problem solving
- Handles routine operational problems with standard, known answers; escalates anything unfamiliar.
- Collaboration & interaction
- Maintains stable internal relationships with supervisors and frontline staff on a single line or cell.
- Typical experience
- 0–1 years; new graduate or intern entering operations.
