- Coordinates corrective action across clinical, operational, and non-clinical groups that do not report to safety, influencing adoption of process changes.
- Ensures the department or division meets all applicable Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and prepares the organization for accreditation surveys.
- May supervise or lead a team of patient safety specialists and directs their work on serious event review and quality improvement projects.
