At the Senior Professional (P4) level, the role owns a system or set of related features, devises new approaches, and drives multi-team / function outcomes. - Owns a spend category or business-unit commodity area, developing sourcing plans that align purchasing decisions with functional cost and performance objectives.
- Leads complex, high-value negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives, performing in-depth analysis of total cost of ownership, make-vs-buy, and multi-year commercial trade-offs.
- Selects sourcing methods and structures multi-supplier award scenarios for requirements where standard approaches do not fit, exercising independent judgment on award rationale.
- Manages a broader range of supplier relationships with greater autonomy, driving supplier performance improvement, risk mitigation, and continuity-of-supply plans.
- Coordinates across engineering, quality, finance, and operations to embed procurement requirements early in product and program decisions, and may lead project teams of buyers.
