- Leads the complete chemical engineering sub-function through Directors, owning the technical direction for how chemical manufacturing processes are designed, modeled, and optimized across the sites in scope.
- Sets and enforces the functional safety standards, policies, and procedures for working with hazardous chemicals, holding accountability for environmental-regulatory compliance across all process design and production activity.
- Approves the engineering strategy for process development — from lab-scale isolation and reconfiguration of chemical elements through equipment design and computer process modeling to scaled production — where errors carry serious functional and business consequences.
- Interfaces with peer engineering, manufacturing, and quality executives and with major customers on process capability, yield, and product qualification commitments.
- Owns the function's budget, headcount, and hiring/training plans, and resolves cross-project resourcing and prioritization conflicts escalated by Directors.
